The leaves are starting to turn. I would say that in two weeks, we will be near peak color.

This is what I do in my "spare time". No gas or electric log splitter for me. I split wood the old fashioned way-with an ax! That way it warms you twice - once when you split it and once when you burn it.

The following pictures show all of the siding having been installed, just waiting to be painted. Even the siding 36 feet above the ground at the gable peak. Of course, I had to hire that done since there was no way I could get Diane to go up there and hang it.

The next several pictures of the lake side of the house show the siding after being caulked and painted, or what would be termed "finished". Now, only three more sides to do and the entire exterior will be done! As you may be able to tell by this first picture, the painted siding is just a bit lighter than the raw primed siding(on the garage side).

While working on putting trim around the chimney chase on the roof, I took some pictures of the lake from a little different vantage point.

If you look closely, you will be able to see the waterspout dipping down from the clouds.

This is just one example of a beautiful sunrise that we witness nearly every morning. Although each one is different because of cloud formations, they are all about as colorful as can be. I don't think we will ever get tired of seeing it, though.
