Even though the beach is now visible through the trees from the loft, some trees will have to be cut to enhance the view once we move in.

We now enter the next phase of building. All of the materials have been delivered including roof trusses, shingles, facia and soffett, windows, doors, decking, and stucco materials.

The cement pump shows up for the last concrete that will have to be pumped. Finally, the exterior walls will be finished. It has been a total of 9 weeks from ground breaking until now.

These are some views of the lake looking through the front of the house as it was being built. This rain shower went just east of us and ended up giving the northern lower peninsula some needed rain.

Here is the temporary floor that had to be built to put the lakeside gable up and secure it for the final concrete pour.

First the gable end is laid out on the loft floor with the proper dimensions and angles, and then each piece is put in place, tied, and literally tons of rebar is added.

The gable ends go up, with the peak being about 36 feet from the ground. This gable required a temporary floor be built to allow proper bracing for the strong winds that might occur as well as the weight of many cubic yards of cement which weigh nearly two tons per yard!
